Computer enrichment classes are available

As an entrepreneur and an active member of Hawaii’s burgeoning high-tech community, I am delighted to see more newspaper coverage of technology and related issues. I am especially pleased to see an increasing awareness of the need to move high-tech training programs into our high schools, intermediate schools and even elementary schools.

Through our sister company, Computer Safari, we provide computer enrichment classes as an optional after-school activity for many public and independent elementary schools. The purpose of Computer Safari’s classes is to ensure our youth have the computer literacy skills to effectively meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Over the last two years, we’ve begun to see a significant number of intermediate and high school students wanting to know much more about computing. These students have long mastered basic computer literacy skills and related knowledge factors but now simply want to do more. To meet this new demand, SuperGeeks created a division called Geek University, which provides higher band-width training for teens and teachers who want to learn advanced programming skills, how to troubleshoot a PC or how to set up a home computer network.

We have also established unique internship programs where talented youngsters have an opportunity to pal around with real SuperGeeks.
