The OneMinute Geek:

Post It Notes

The Problem:

The best solutions are often the ones that are remarkably simple. Take Velcro, for example. Reportedly inspired by the tiny burrs collecting on the inventor’s jeans during long walks, Velcro gets the job done without a user manual. If only computers were so easy! Imagine scribbling quick and easy messages via your PC, without having to go through so many menus and mouse clicks.

The Solution:

Post-It Software Notes! They are a digital version of those famous canary yellow Post-It Notes. And they're free!

3M offers a Standard version, a Professional version and a Lite version. All versions can be downloaded from www.3M.com. Just visit the site and use the search box in the upper right hand corner. Enter the key phrase 'software notes' and click through the related links.

The Lite version is the free one. With it, you can:

- Create your own notes.

- Insert pictures and URLs into the notes.

- Stick Notes anywhere on your desktop.

- Manipulate the text font, color and style.

- Add reminder alarms to your notes.

- Print notes.

The paid versions that start at $14.95 via download, offer more features like organizing tools, the ability to email notes and the ability to plug in your PC tablet create and edit handwritten notes.

Have fun with (Post) it!
